Iirc, characters with a constitution score of 20 or more regenarate. In the manual there are no information how fast they regenarate, does anyone know this?

This is discussed in the players handbook of AD&D second edition (the pen-and-paper game where the rules in the baldurs gate saga are based upon).

    20 CON gives 1hp/6 turns
    21 CON gives 1hp/5 turns
22 CON gives 1hp/4 turns and so on.

As far as I know 1 round is 6 seconds long, which gives the duration of one turn of 60 seconds, 1 minute. So you would regenerate (with a CON of 20) 1 hitpoints every six minutes.

I'm not completly sure about this as I don't know the exact time of a round in the BG games.

Actually, In 2ed AD&D a round is roughly one minute. 10 rounds are a turn, so a turn is ten minutes. A character with Con 20 thus regenerates 1 hitpoint per 60 minutes.
Luckily the BG games are not real-time ;)

You essentially heal full HP while sleeping, and travelling. Not too bad.

Eaxtly regenerating 1 HP per minute, or six minutes or whatever, won't make much difference especially if you're fighting enemies that take off upwards of 50HP in one blow
