Whilst checking my emails Comodo popped up and said something along the lines of 'iexplorer is temporarily blocked. Click allow if it is one of your everyday applications'. I'd been using IE and Comodo for ages and this has never happened. I though it very strange. So, I clicked block.
Now I can't open IE. Does anyone know how to stop Comodo blocking IE?

It should have a list of blocked and allowed apps that you should be able to modify and set all permissions to "allow" for IE. It's odd that any AV program today wouldn't be able to identify browser executables and exempt them, though. You might want to switch to Avast or AVG instead of Comodo.

Exactly... it was just so odd the window popped up. I thought, 'somethings got to be going on', so I clicked block.

I went to the Comodo site and their advice didn't work (slightly similar to yours). They also had a suggestion of removing and re-installing IE. I did that. Nada.

I think I'll take your advice and switch to avast. Thanks.

A friend of mine switches his anti-virus to a different one every couple of months. Maybe that's a good plan too.

I've mostly been happy with Avast in the past though it was a bit over-zealous at times too... who knows what triggered Comodo to block IE. It could have been some actual malware, but blocking IE altogether is obviously not the way to handle it...

I dunno, blocking IE always seems like a good option to me...

Hehe, that used to be true, but the latest versions of IE are quite usable.

    Nice. :)

My computer is a little older now. For some reason Chrome never used to open my hotmail account so I used IE for that. But now Chrome seems to be running perfectly smoothly. Perhaps my PC agrees with the pic.
