How typical. Writing a comic book hero's death in order to shock everyone into upping their sales, and yet, not truly ultimately killing off the character in order to keep the customer base in tact.

Except, its been done so many times, its getting pretty tired and old hat by now. Basically as old hat and tired as every "Superman defeats Lex Luther yet again" and "Spider Man defeats (insert)Goblin yet again" line.

What they're doing with the superheroes had in some ways become comical... no pun intended. Killing Supes then later tell everyone that Supes not death. Same with Capt. Now Spidey and it's not Spidey.

I remember reading a friend's comic book where they killed off Frank Castle (aka The Punisher) and then a week later saw in the internet a reincarnated F. Castle in the form of a Frankenstein-ish monster-hero. Btw, didn't Magneto drained all the adamantium from Wolverine's body a long time ago?

Some henchmen of Apocalypse killed Cyber (old archenemy of Wolverine), who had skin made of adamantium. They used his skin to infuse Wolverine's bones with adamantium again. But don't worry, Cyber resurfaced a few years later. I think he finally succumbed to a heart attack though if memory serves.

It's ridiculous what has happened to the comic book industry. There's no integrity in the storylines anymore, just a constant hunt for the cash cow.

I'd like to see Archie get killed. Preferably by one of the girls he's always been jerking around. Maybe a crossover with Marvel and having Wolverine eviscerate him, or a crossover with DC and have Darkseid Omega Beam the red headed little douche, and then bring him back just to Omega Beam him over and over again. I'd buy THAT Archie comic!

I'm not a fan of it. I liked when Marvel killed Steve Rodgers and was so incredibly disappointed when a little over two years later he was brought back. But what can you expect from the two big companies.

That is why I am loving anything that Robert Kirkman writes (Walking Dead, Invicible) when he kills off character, they stay dead. Especially in Walking Dead. In Invincible he killed off a character and it was shocking when he returned him to life because he never does that.

Marvel and DC could learn a thing or two from him.

I remember the saying that "only Bucky Barnes, Jason Todd and Uncle Ben will stay dead in comics". Well both Barnes and Todd have been ressurected.
