    Another day, another game review.

Double Dungeons is a first-person dungeon crawl with monsters and treasure. Monsters respawn, and it's necessary to get enough gold to cover the outfitting expenses, as well as potions, refreshes and utility items.

There are a total of 23 dungeons to explore, and in each one of them there is a stage boss of sorts. You'll require a key to unlock the door to the boss encounter, which you'll find while exploring the level.

Double Dungeons is a more forgiving game than most, so if you pick a fight you cannot survive, just D-pad your way out of harm's way. In the first dungeon, for example, I kept getting my ass handed to me by March snakes, until I got enough gold to get the Longsword and the Wooden Armor. At that point, I whooped their arses, made serious cash and XP in the process. The level boss, without spoiling the surprise, is tough, so stash up on heal potions as much as possible.

If there's one negative thing I could say about Double Dungeons, it's the same thing I said about Order of The Griffon... NO FREAKING AUTOMAP FEATURE. WHY??? Warriors of the Eternal Sun on MegaDrive does that, WHY can't OoTG, and why can't Double Dungeons have this simple idea of convenience??? To a degree, I can understand this adds to the realism of a dungeon crawl... but it's a PAIN IN THE ASS!

Final verdict... Double Dungeons is a great game, no doubt about it. The lack of an automap is a major irritant for me, though. It's just not fun wandering around blindly or with the help of printed maps every time I want to go buy some F'N healing potions or rest at the Inn. Still... it's an excellent way of cranking XP and gold up, since you get lost, monsters respawn, so while trying to find the way to the level boss, you kill a lot of monsters... hell, I'm level 15 and I'm still in the first damned dungeon, looking for the F'N boss door so I can move on to the next level. Oh yeah, gotta love this... everytime you do a new dungeon, you're reset to level 1... forcing to hunt for money to re-equip yourself and level up.

I still enjoy Double Dungeons, though. Especially on a foggy day.
