    But I thought Chandros The Red said something rather interesting in another thread and wanted to quote it here.

    Well, sometimes, I think contemporary talk stays in history-books and isn't revised. Not that I want to draw a direct-connection. Just the main theme, that a person not-widely liked will automaticly become a hero in later days, acclaimed for his brilliance and wisdom. (By the way, I doubt that Lincoln wasn't esteemed by a lot of contemporaries).

    Reelected, I think, he'll be.

    Again, the point is. Most political-leaders who are widely unpopular, remain it. Even Bush isn't unpopular in his own-country. No direct comparision USA-Germany intendet. Here
