Hi, I've got TNO pickpocket up to 100%, but everytime I try to steal from a store I get caught. Is this because the game thinks I've got 0%, or is it at all possible to steal from stores? Maybe it's to prohibit powergamers from stealing all those nice things the stores have. If so, what good is pickpockets?

I think some of the stores (Vrischika for one) can't be pickpocketed at all, but most can. With 100% you still have a good chance of getting caught though, so use some dirty rat charms and/or boost your luck. And some powerword reload.

I don't think any store is impossible to steal from but alle stores have a constant associated that define how hard they are to steal from. So even if you have 100% in theft skill, you may only have a 50% chance of successfully stealing from a store.

AFAIR, Vrishika's store is the hardest to steal from, and Giscorl's in the Hive Market is the easiest.

I've successfully stolen from every store in the game, so I know it's possible. You've just got to keep on trying. And yes, Vrishika's is the hardest even if you pump up your pickpocket to max.

A good trick is to keep your hand on the spacebar button. If the stealing fails IMMEDIATELY pause the game, before the shopkeeper goes hostile. Talk to him/her, then unpause the game. Ask to see his/her wares again. This resets the script, and the shopkeeper no longer goes hostile. Repeat until you succeed, and make sure you save after you get the item, because sometimes you can't be fast enough and pause on time.
