[IMG] About a month ago we signed for Telefonica's Imagenio, which is a digital television service, with channels like History/Discovery/Biography Channel, Cosmopolitan, AXN, Eurosports, Paramount Comedy, etc. Back in Argentina, we had DirecTV, which is almost the same; so in AXN we had the typical series from USA, as Cosmopolitan and Paramount, where there were series from, of course, the Paramount. C.S.I. and Sex in the city are shows that have some success in local channels but they are 3 seasons late; so, in AXN, now you can see almost all day long C.S.I. series even older, in Cosmopolitan is Sex in the city almost all day and everyday, and even worst, in Paramount there are Spanish dumb comedies (the previous seasons shown on air local channels) that have nothing to do with Paramount 24/7.
I remember when we had ESPN for the first time in Argentina, it was all about USA sports: NBA, NHL, etc., but after 2 seasons, local guys thought that it will be more success to have local football and sports so they transformed ESPN and Fox Sports into just another Argentinian sport channel, made for just few people from the capital who like to watch rugby and polo. So when we wanted to watch a NBA game we had to wait until 3AM. Of course, 90% of the people complained about that and even we made a 26000 signed complain to ESPN in USA but they told us that the people who run ESPN in Argentina bought the rights to show whatever local sport they want and if they wanted to delay a NBA game they have the right to do it.
So what's the point of have a channel from other country to show local shows? Wouldn't be better to make their own channel?
What happens in your country? What shows you see in, let's say, AXN?
I hate this, andd I know is not just me, local boards and newspapers shows that lots, lots of people here don't like either to see Los Serrano for the 34405 time in Paramount or CSI for the 344857 time in AXN.
