[IMG] Just wondering how often people have them and what they do.
I've got my 16th this Sunday and I'm going to an Italian resturaunt for lunch before seeing Star Wars Episode 3. For the last 5 ? years I've seen a moovie with about 5 of my friends, but some of my mates just don't get around to doing stuff with their friends for their birthdays.

I have always had one on my birthday. For the last several years it has generally been going to a restaurant for dinner and then to a movie - I think that is fairly standard for a birthday around here.

I usually also have my family gather for a get together and roast beef dinner sometime around my birthday.

Does having a bottle of tequila and getting snmashed in front ogf the computer while in the chatroom count?

Cuz that was my best birthday EVER. Closest thing to a party I've had since... eh, my 5th I think...

I never have them any more because my son's birthday is 3 days after mine. Thus, all attention is heaped on him -- as it should be.

Generally out for a meal with friends.
This year's my 30th and I'm considering a medieval banquet type affair.

Every year! Usually some drinking at my place, watching a movie and stuff. Then we go out and act like a bunch of wacko's and wackettes. Superb, I must say!

Sounds like an Irish b/day party misanthrophe, except we replace Megadeth songs with our traditional music, especially the song 'Wild Rover'.

My birthdays are more subdued as I like to camp in the mountains, what makes this better is the date of my birthday, 22nd December, so its calm, and the moon is at its weakest state.

In highschool, we would go to the biggest house we could get and have a house party with music and many diverse beverages. ;)

I usually pick the nearest weekend to my birthday and have lunch with my family. Later in the evening it's hanging out with my friends, maybe in a bar or a restaurant.

I usually throw a party at my place for my friends and relatives. When everyone shows up, there's over 30 people in the house, which usually causes problems with seats, i don't have enough room to give each and everyone a place to sit, so it gets a little messy sometimes. :D

Haven't celebrated it this year though, i didn't want those thugs to mess up my brand new appartment. Maybe next year.

I have many, many celebrations in october, and more than plenty in march and april.

What we do? We drink, eat and chat at the person's home.
Top X stuff you need for a party: Beer, white wine, liquor, crisps, snacks, salads, and a livingroom big enough for 2 or 70 people, depending on how 'cool/charismatic' you are... :p

I usually don't want everybody to sit. IMO, it's much more fun (gezellig, in dutch) to have many people standing. Things get a bit bored if everybody stays at 'their own seat'. I usually get some of those 'party-tables' (these high ones, what are they called?)
