I was playing with a friend online on BGII the other day, and i thought you had to have the exact same parts of the exact same mods installed to play or it wouldnt work?

he had some parts installed that i didnt, but there wasnt any issues, other than this particular part was part of the tactics mod so it bumped the difficulty of the fight up too high for us to handle.

point is our weidu files didnt match up and there wasnt any crashing or other sorts of things that i would have expected from what people were saying about mods.

I jsut wanted some light shed on this.

I believe the only files you use are those of the host, not the person/people joining the game you create.

That means that the only thing you need to match up is your frame rate and password.

thats seems to be what happened yes.

but from what i understood about mods, was they had to all be the same or something would go wrong.

    but thanks for explaining that.
