It's just my first encounter with them and I had to reload the game already for so many times...
Bergos goes down quite easily but the rest of the Drow are in the dark. All my members ( unfortunately almost all fighters ) are level 10, except my cleric, he's just level 5. There aren't many good spells he could use and the arrows are having a feast under my melee fighters.

Should I skip the rest of the 1st level of the catacombs, proceed further and come back when I have more experience or is there a better/other way ? ( my cleric isn"t usefull at all in this combat, unfortunately )

Might be a good idea to skip and come back later, but then you'll only gain another level, at best. If you can reload and start that battle again from the beginning, try other dialogue options. Basically, if you taunt her enough, she'll reveal her entire batallion and fight you in the open. Otherwise casting dispel magic will bring down the darkness - but the dialogue option is better. Be as nasty as you want to her - there's no peaceful solution to this batter anyway.

Be sure to beef your fighters up as much as you can beforehand. Casting silence on the group to disable their spellcaster is a good idea too.

Do you have a sorcerer in your party? If so, what spells does he/she have memorized? What spell scrolls have you collected? This is one of the tougher battles in the game, so you can feel free to use a few of your more powerful spell scrolls, charged items, etc.

Also, having a party that is too melee heavy may cause you a few problems. My party consists of:

Vind Pier: elven Paladin (main character)
    Jutak: Half-orc Monk
Wesjenn: Elven Cleric (main healer, backup tank)
    Cyrette: Human Ranger 5/Rogue X

the 2 characters I picked up were:

    Jarial: Human Sorcerer
Faeril: Fighter 5/Cleric X (backup tank - though highest level, weakest link in my team for some reason)

I've been doing very well with this party, dispite the high difficulty in many battles. Your results may vary.
