[IMG]TechRaptor reports that Beamdog will be bringing the Infinity Engine games to console, in partnership with Skybound Games.

Beamdog, the developer behind the enhanced editions of classic RPG's such as Baldur's Gate and Planescape Torment, is teaming up with publisher Skybound Games to bring these classic RPG's to consoles for the first time in history.

"Six of Beamdog's fan-favorite games will be released on console platforms for the first time ever via Skybound all as Enhanced Editions sold at retail stores and online." stated Sally Jacka in a blog post on Skybound's website. "These upcoming releases will allow RPG fans the opportunity to experience epic Dungeons & Dragons adventures in a whole new way."

I was looking for a reason to play this game again. I hope they pull it off.

Eh, it doesn't feel like a particularly good marketing move to me. Maybe when the EEs were released and the hype was going strong, but I doubt enough people care to play the games on a console at this point to make it worth the investment. And they're likely gonna suffer from the same problem as the tablet versions: difficulties with installing mods and getting them to work.

Funny that someone posted a video of one unfinished port of the original BG to the console in the funny videos thread (I think). Looked pretty clunky, I wonder if they'll manage to improve the UI. And to make everything visible when setting some meters away from the TV.

@Sorvo I think it should be possible to play the tablet version on a phone as well. Just remember to bring your magnifying glass.
