    Unlike the innumerable retail advertisements that have given out guestimates of release dates to generate pre-orders, this is the first time Blizzard has announced a release date, so it seems for real.

    I’ll probably wait for the inevitable expansion. I still have a backlog of games I’ve bought (or want to buy) but haven’t played yet, so I don’t mind waiting. I remember buying D2 shortly after it was released, and being annoyed when LoD was released less than a year later; the expansion introduced some pretty substantial changes to the game (and I think for the better). I never got LoD, mainly because the tedium of Act 3 ruined the game for me, but if I had started out with both in the first place, I might have enjoyed it more.

    Good old Blizzard, they do like to 'make sure the game is right' don't they! They're the gaming equivalent of George RR Martin.

    When this comes out though, I'll be allover it like Joseph Kony on the under 10's!
