When Annah joins the party and the Nameless One asks her how she finds his body and why she was at the Alley of Lingering signs, she says that she was "compelled" to go there. Is there any ingame explanation of what compelled her?

Because the Nameless One draws tormented souls to him?

    Aye, that be sounding right.

Ravel explains Annah's torment if you have Annah in your party in the maze.

    Depends on the incarnation.

I want to shoot the "practical" one.

Not your avatar, though T2. :p

I don't think it's due to this vague "TNO draws tormented souls to him" explanation. If this is so, why is it only Annah finds the body? Why not Dakkon or Morte? Why not other tormented souls in Sigil (there must be dozens of them)?
The Alley of Lingering Souls is said to be haunted and so out of the way that very few people will go there. There must be some reason why Annah would venture into the Alley. If you say it is due to love at first sight and she followed TNO into the alley out of curiosity, I am more likely to buy this explanation. But Annah specifically said that she was "compelled" to go there, like there was a spell cast on her or something.

She frequents the area probably scavenging for items for Pharod, so I guess she was won the lucky draw for being the closest.

Yes, what compelled her to go there besides TNO drawing tormented souls towards him? Her attraction to him, as well? But she bad mouth's him later when you first encounter her in the Hive. Something's missing from that picture...

the alley of lingering sighs is skeezy

I think it also has something to do with the fact that the Alley of Lingering Sighs is pretty much deserted. Only dabuses frequent there, and I don't really see them as being "tortured." So I think the combination of Annah being in the right place and the right time and being a generally tormented person were what did it.

It might also have something to do with that fact that only one person can find the body FIRST and remove it. Thereafter, the body is no longer there for someone else to find, even if it's only a minute after the first finder removed it.
