    I may have a problem, my firmware (dd-wrt v24) says security is enable (WPA2) but windows wireless connection says it's insecure. I'm throwing a LAN gaming party this weekend and I obviously only want the guess to connect. I'm kinda confused who says the truth?

    Did you set up the security passwords on the router and your PC? If not, then I'd say Windows is correct. Maybe you're connecting to someone else's unsecured router?

    Yes I did, I set the password for both, and I'm 100% sure I'm connected to the right network.

    Edit: Somehow, doing a router hardware reset re-enable the security properly.
