    I saw an article saying, for some reason that I do not understand, that Pearl Jam is rereleasing thier breakthrough album, Ten. It dawned on me at that moment that I was a senior in high school the year that album was released. That made me feel old. Anyway, I clicked on the link, and found embedded music videos of the major bands of the grunge era that I fondly remember. There's links to Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Alice in Chains, and several others. I particularly enjoyed hearing Soundgarden's "Rusty Chains" again. Just wanted to share the link, even if it does make me a :geezer:

    Aldeth, if you like Alice in Chains, check out Mad Season. It's basically a grunge supergroup, and they play some good stuff... including the killer track I Don't Know Anything, former CZW's Justice Pain theme.

    Great stuff, at any rate. Worth your time, I think.

    I do like Alice in Chains - they are probably my favorite band from that era. Nirvana is probably my least favorite band from that era. I always thought they were over-rated and Cobain got way too much credit for blowing his own head off.

    Yeah... Ten is one of my favorite albums ever, unfortunately I can't say I was really a fan back then :D

    I agree that Nirvana is nothing special, though I'm not too big on Alice in Chains either (which is likely due to not having heard almost any of their work).

    Well, I would imagine if you like Alice in Chains you'll like Mad Season because Layne Staley fronted both bands. I prefer Jerry Cantrell's guitar work myself.

    I've been under the impression that Pearl Jam have actually re-recorded "Ten." That, if anything, doesn't bode well for their future in terms of songwriting.

    Mad Season's "Above" album is pretty cool, I got it fairly recently. "Wake Up" is probably my favorite track. Beautiful song. I love Alice in Chains, so if it wasn't for Stayley I probably never would have checked out Mad Season. Good thing I did.

    Pearl Jam and Soundgarden have pretty much gone under my radar. What I've heard I haven't violently disliked, but haven't really gotten into either. Nirvana's definitely overrated and I don't own any of their records, but I'd be lying if I said I don't like any of their stuff.

    Aldeth, that era of music is golden...if I may humbly say so.

    I was reminded of my age a while back at a local grocery store when I heard the Beastie Boys belting out 'you have to fight for your right to party!'.....vintage Beastie Boys has been relegated to pleasant shopping muzak?!

    Susipaisti, re-calibrate your radar and let Soundgarden blip vigorously about your consciousness :) . Don't miss out.

    Memory lane? These are produced videos, not even clips from American Bandstand or Ed Sullivan.

    Memory lane... BAH! You youngin's just don't understand the real meaning. Waaaay back when we used to have to put up with Dick Clark's ridiculous commentary about the damn song and his stupid questions -- or fork over the $12 to actually go and see the band in concert. There was none of this turn on the TV to MTV (oh, wait.... I guess they don't play very many videos either) or just whip out the computer and access the video.

    ... that probably explains why there are so many ugly performers from the sixties and seventies....

    Um.... I seriously doubt you're that much older than me T2B. I cannot believe that you can honestly claim to be familiar with music from the 60s at the time it was being written. Even if you are 10 years older than me (which I doubt you are, but I'll be generous) you would not have been born yet during the early 60s. You'd have to be at least as old as the president to remember that era...
