A few bugs in my game...

    [​IMG] I like this game a lot, but it continues to pester me with bugs...

    OK then, I had a new installation, my game has HoW, ToTLM, and a few mods on top of that, G3 tweaks, AB, and bonus spells component from 3e rules.

    I have a few bugs, I think.

    1-Seven Eyes spell does not work and crashes my game. When I cast it, the spell casting animation works normally, but when it is finished and the spell effect is about to come, it gives a Windows error with the warning sound, and the game locks up, I can only end the task via CTRL+ALT+DEL. Why?

    2-Umm, how much damage Belhifet does in the final battle with his melee attack? He did about average 8-9 dmg in my game. AND his attack had the ugly, punching sound :BASH!: as if he had NO weapon equipped. I did not notice that before, does he really attack with punches? I think then he can not kill someone with his melee attack, only make him faint...but what are all nasty swords in his animation for, then? Kinda confused here...and that 8-9 dmg is pathetic for an end boss, IMHO, it was not like this before, right? WHY?

    3-I can not import ANY characters. When I do, the game freezes like the Seven Eyes bug. Annoying!

    So any experiences, solutions, comments will be highly appreciated. Thank you all in advance!

    I'd say the problem is your mods, because I don't remember any such bugs in the unmodded game.

    Allright Taluntain, thanks for the fast reply.

    Which mod is the culprit? AB? Oh that mod is cool but always has problems! :( I am not sure if I have the newest version though, I gotta check. :hmm:

    So how much dmg Belhifet does on an average hit? He does slashing dmg right? How can I fix Belhifet's CRE file so that he gets a proper weapon equipped. By the by I can raise all his stats to 25, add a few more resistances and give him GM in the weapon he uses. Dalekeeper won't let me edit CRE files, what do I need?

    I can live without casting Seven Eyes, it is not that important anyway, my favourite spell is Finger of Death at that lvl. I do so love save or die type spells, Disintegrate is also an all time favourite! :thumb:

    But I really don't know why I can not import characters...I can not play HoF mod thanks to this...

    OH, also, I have changed the IWD configuration file in the folder, to eliminate the extra damage in harder difficulty settings. I made 'supress extra difficulty dmg' value 1, so monsters do not do double damage on insane, AND I don't get double XP, it is still useful as on insane it spawns more monsters and they have better rolls. (luck effect? they hit more frequently!) Can this cause the problem? (don't think so, but still...) :confused:

    Belhifet's weapon has damage 1d10+5. Belhifet himself has 25 strength.
    For editing his cre you'll need DLTCEP or NI.

    My first thought was AB... unfortunately it's kept appearing as the apparent culprit for a number of weird issues here on the boards. I'd look at that one first.

    I see...Umm I have tried one of those game editors before and it gave so many errors and did not even start up. Do you know why?

    AB indeed causes many bugs for some reason, but it is still the only large mod for IWD. Sigh.

    Silverstar: Which editor did you try? For DLTCEP read setup.txt, there are instructions how to setting up DLTCEP for the first time.

    Oh wait, it was IEEP that I tried. I will look into the programs you said when I have the time, thank you very much! (I am reaaaly busy nowadays, studying for the finals and all.. :p )

    Err, can some one give links for both of them? Are they here on SP as well?
