Question on Imoen Romance

    If I play the game, have Aerie/Jahiera/Viconia in my party and start a romance with one of them, will the Imoen romance still progress without problems when you pick her up from Spelly? Can you romance both of them? Will there be conflicts (as in dialogue conflicts)? Will the 2 gals fight over you affections?

    What happens? Anyone know?

    I think you can romance Imoen & ONE of the three romances from the original game.

    I'm not a 100% sure about the fighting thing, you might want to check the readme, on the Imoen romance site, if you're really keen to find out though.

    Although I'm not sure, I think you can only have one of them. I remember a dialogue with her once where she said I was a virgin, and I had the option of saying I had slept with Viconia, who I was romancing at the time. So it at least acknowledges when you're romancing someone else.

    IIRC, you need to...

    ...ignore all other romances.
    ...play around until those dream sequences have played.
    ...at times try to force-talk Imoen in case she has something to say.
    ...hope that you take the the correct choise from a selection of 50+

    If you don't do those, there will not be any notification that the romance is "over" -they let you know only at the very end if you did the right choises (when you can't pick any other romances either). :nolike:

    You don't always have to make the right choices - just enough right choices for her to like you. I works on "nice points" or somesuch, and you need about 25 to activate the romance. The activation takes place just after leaving the Underdark, when you get the option of finally being able to make a move that works.

    The dreams run in exactly the same way as the dreams from the original game. Just experience those, and you can go and rescue Imoen.

    Force-talk her every ingame hour or so, to check for new options there.

    Don't make a move on her before you leave the Underdark, or you've blown it.

    Thanks for that Alavin. But you've not touched on my question :( .

    Can you have Imoen romance AND, say, Aerie romance running in the same game? Or is there a code that checks if a romance is already running, if so, the Imoen romance doesn't happen?.... if that makes sense, lol

    I just checked the Imoen Romance message board, and it says that other romances do stop the Imoen one. (source: here)

    There's a mod out there that makes Imoen a romanceable charcter. We've been through this incest thing before and I'd thank you not to start it up again.

    Not true. If you have all the characters in your party and screw each of their romances, then yes, you're SOL. However, you could always pick up another romanceable character in Chapter 6 and start another romance then, even if others are screwed.

    Bad design, I say. How many really change their party members when they have almost finished the game? (And you cannot just rush it because of those dream sequences.)

    Hopefully that other mod makes a better romance. (Concurrent romance, that is :D )

    Well that was the first i'd heard of it. Therefore I obviously don't fit into the category "We've," other wise I wouldn't have brought it up. I also had and have, no intention of "starting it up again." So I would "THANK" you not to use an offensive tone so unnecessarily again please.

    [​IMG] It gets on people's nerves when they see "what! surely that's incest!" for the 50th time, pretty much every time a topic on the Imoen romance mod is opened... Considering the Imoen romance mod has been out for years, this is really annoying. Especially considering Imoen is your half-sister, and not even really sharing any blood ties, but rather just divine essence, which I'm sure does not interfere genetically. If you consider Imoen to be your sister, that's fine, but do let those who do not play the game without silly accusations. This is, after all, just a game.

    Why are you comparing romancing Imoen to that? the issue has been covered thoroughly on TBG and SP. If you think it's incest don't download the mod, if you like the idea and think it's acceptable, that's great. It's all a matter of opinion.
