    [IMG] Hi,

I started playing BG2 a few days ago. I have this really strange problem that, whenever I select a spell casting character, the spell bar on the bottom will start flashing like crazy, the cursor will change nonstop between the normal movement cursor and spell casting one, the entire game slows to a crawl (becomes pretty much unplayable until I pause, go to the game options screen, and then come back). The rest of the game runs fine, this happens ONLY when I select spell casting characters (I can select my warrior with no problem) and it's driving me crazy...

I have tried everything I can think of, my system is a 600/256 mb ram/geforce 2 that should run it fine, I've turned off all the graphics settings, tried running it in 640 mode, etc etc but still have this problem. If anyone has any advice it would be much appreciated...I am ready to throw my monitor out the window :(

Well it seems you have more than sufficient computer to run the game and whatnot. So it may not be a hardware problem. Perhaps you don't have the latest direct x driver installed?? I think directx 8 is the latest not for sure.

Other than that i have no idea :/... sorry i wish i could help more.

    later.

Make sure you have the latest patches for the game. If you still have the problem, try disableing 3D accelleration. Also, you can try going into display properties and changing the display settings.
