[IMG] hi, I've killed the Elemental lich (bridge) and the Shade Lich (eyeless cult) and taken the golden bones found on each. I was wondering if anyone knows where to find the rest, and if so what do I do with them when I get them all?

    Thanks,
    Ray

Those two golden bone sets are the only two you need for the kangaxx quest.

Kangaxx's talking head part is in the cellar of the house between de Sea Bounty Inn and Mae'Var's Guild House in the Docks district.

You get the best ring in the game from him, but without using traps, this is gonna be a very difficult battle. You'll see :D

    Good luck.

To defeate the demi lich, remenber to use scroll of magical protection (potion are useless against imprisonment) and have a +4 weapon ready to kill him with.

You can beat Kangaxx more efficiently with the Skulltrap spell, whereas an enchanted weapon will take some time since it inflicts only a few hp damage per attack. The Skulltrap, however, will cause an average of 20-30 hp damage. Two should be enough to shatter him (it takes a skull to beat a skull).

[IMG] An alternative to using scroll of Protection against magic is to cast "Spell Immunity" and choose Abjuration. You need to protect against the demi-liches Imprisonment spell and that is an Abjuration spell.

How to kill Kangaxx in billion ways without sweating is spoken here in so many threads so why don't you use that search option?

I beg authorities to lock this one.

Yes, I know that this is certainly cheating, but the best way to beat lichs is to use the protection from magic scroll, and cast it on the lich itself. That prevents the lich from casting spells. Although it also prevents you from using spells to attack it-fireballs and skull trap should still work (?), and weapons certainly do. You can take out any spellcaster this way, without breaking a sweat.

[IMG] Easy on ray, extremist, he didn't know the name of the beasty, or what to do with the stuff he found. I made a simple and short reply to get him started. No need to get upset bout it...

[IMG] Extremist, practically everything has been discussed here before. But try to keep in mind that not everyone has been here from the beginning and that not everyone wants to go through 500 posts on this topic. If you don't want to cooperate in the topic, just skip it, as all veterans do when they're faced with a topic they've seen often enough before. Or help out again, if you wish. Or post a link to previous topics. But don't just spoil the fun for everyone else.

If we ran the whole boards with the concept that after one thing has been discussed it must not be mentioned again, we could have locked the BG2 forum here a few months ago.

Thanks (I think) for all the info on what to do with the bones.

p.s: for what it's worth here is my little tactic (abit cheating in some respects). But I stay out of sight of the lich and just send 1 summoned creature in at a time until the damn liches have used up all their spells... then I walk in and clean up. Though I think I might try that protection from magic spell on them... sounds neat.

He, you'll have a pretty hard time if you use this method on Kangaxx...
    Tip like someone already said:
You'll need +4 and +5 weapons to kill Kangaxx and your summoned creatures don't have those... Only you do, so you'll have to face him...
Another tactic is to cast a wish spell with your mage and then run back like hell and have your best fighter talk to the genie.
Ask him to stop time and you'll be able to kick Kangaxx's but!

    [IMG] Are +4 weapons enough?
Besides, Kangaxx is about 80% resistant to all phisical attacks. I think only Crom Faeyr and Carsomyr +5 is able to hit him.

You can always try melf's Minute Meteors, they work and hit like a +5 weapon. Also the darts from the cloak of stars are +5. The staff of the Magi hits like a +5 and dispells. There is a boneblade dagger +4 further in the game. I'm sure there are more besides Carsomyr and Crom Fayer, these are all I remember.

Carsomyr, or should I say 'The Holy Avenger' is loot from Firkraag the Red Dragon, or should I say 'Lord Jierdan Firkraag'.

Daystar is the long sword you get from the coffin of the 'Lich in the Wall' in the tavern in the Gate District.

    You saymelf's minute meteors?

They could be good, but I think Kangaxx has a high armor class of -5 or so. Mages will never hit him!

    Errata: Melf's Minute Meteors are +4 to hit;

Carsomyr is for Paladins only, but it is certainly one of the best weapons available:

    Holy Avenger: Carsomyr +5
    Damage: 1d12+5
    THACO: +5
    Speed Facoor: 5

    - 50% magic resistance; casts Dispel Magic (3x day); +5 damage vs. Chaotic evil; Dispel Magic on successful hit; :D
