    There's some chain mail armour you can pick up early that is quite good - mail of the dead or something that sounds evil. I think it is mail +3 or something. Later on you can kill the Shadow Dragon and then make the shadow dragon scale armour which has 50% acid resistance and an Ac of 1. Towards the end I picked up the Crimson Chain which has an Ac o 0.

    Barbarians can also were splint mail, but I never found any in SOA, but the best armor for a barbarian is that green one you find in Sundanneselar, you can also upgrade it in ToB with a prot from normal weapons scroll .

    The only drawback is that, in ToB after finishing off Irenicus (given you play good), you *are* immune to magical weapons already .... ;) so the upgrade is just nice for other partymembers :D

    There's this +4 splint or chain mail in the adventurer's mart when you get to see the extra items. Better than the shadow dragon scale. (Well I used it instead of it, so either it's better or more stylish :p)

    I've picked up all kinds of splint mail in SoA. They all came off of baddies I'd killed, though. Look for them on the lads who ambush you as you move from place to place in town.

    Ragusa, IIRC after finishing off Irenicus in hell, you got immunity from normal+1 weapons.

    The choice to become immune to magical weapons +1 would be brilliant for a limited wish. If your wis is below 6 you will still be vulnerable by normal weapons :D
