    I honestly didn't think this year could be any worse than last year. Clearly I was wrong.

    Unfortunately I don't think Putin will stop at Ukraine unless stopped. He clearly has some delusional plan to restore the USSR as it was before it collapsed.

    I live way too close to O'Hare for comfort if we're going to war with Russia. I'm only 15 miles away. Probably too close to The Chicago Loop too, which is just over 25 miles. Palwaukee aka Chicago Executive Airport is not that far either.
    There's also a small Army Reserve facility a mile and a half away.
    All primary and secondary targets for Chicago. Although maybe CEA (formerly Palwaukee) is a tertiary target as a minor airstrip.

    I don’t think WW3 is on the way. Putin wants to annex areas of the Ukraine that are loyal to Russia, but I don’t think he wants to push it too far (imo it is too far already). Most of the world has nothing to worry about except higher gas prices.

    Agreed, it stops at Ukraine but with Belarus and part of east Moldova voluntarily rejoining the RF.

    Funny thing about his whole concept of NATO being on his doorstep, by annexing Ukraine, you just got closer to NATO….

    I just saw this posted on the GoG forum, a giveaway for "This War of Mine" on GoG in exchange for support to the Ukraine Red Cross.
    The site asks to link https://sekurak.pl/pomagamy-ukrainie/ instead of directly to the giveaway. They got keys from generous 11 bit studios because they donated 100 000 PLN to Red Cross. More importantly, in return they ask you to support Ukraine, be it through donation or any other way.

    The 30's ended with a World War, no Appeasement would have caused the same outcome. Still, preventing a World War is important and the two WW"s we had learned why. Moreover, Russia is a nuclear power with a lunatic at charge. So it's good to isolate Russia and have lots of sanctions and to be united in support for Ukraine and on the other hand, it's best for all, Ukraine, Russia and the rest of the world te try to deescalate the conflict. The sanctions might help to make it more attractive to come to an agreement to end the war and at the same time might cause some internal pressure on Putins position.
