    Hey all . . .

So I have seen (in passing) several mentions to people "Solo'ing" BG and BG2.

You can't be serious. And no reload? I have a hard enough time with a full party—okay, so not the hardest time, but the idea of being (CHARNAME) only sounds insane. Does anyone have any tips or war stories to share. Thanks in advance.

If you search for "solo" in this and the classic subforums here there should be dozens of threads on the subject. It's a thing, yes... though I guess it only makes sense once you've beat the game every other way already because it's not easy. You also miss out on all the NPC interaction which is arguably one of the most important aspects of the game. Definitely not for everyone.

Sure we're serious. I did an iron man solo through SOA and TOB and reported it here with a ranger/cleric.

If you want me to dig up the thread, I will, but if you search for "ranger/cleric" and posted by user "dmc" I'm sure you will find it. I think it was part of a solo iron-man thread, so you can see what other did as well.

In most situations, soloing is easier than having a full party of 6. Assuming you're starting with minimal XP.

Sure it did - if your mind is in the gutter and you change Sorvo's "your" to "you're"

Some characters like fighter/mage/thieves really come into their own on a solo run.

Not with BG, but I've solo'd IWD Classic a couple times... once with a Bard, and once with a Paladin. Arguably harder, there, as treasure is more random.

My first full full playthrough of SoA and ToB was a solo. Some of the boss fights were pretty hard, but overall it tends to be fairly easy.
