Lost interest in the game far before the halfway point. The same with ME2. The combat is annoying, the shard gathering, war room and other things a slap in the face.

I do not want to be the ultimate messiah while playing an action game, a Sim and a crafting game at the same time.

Now ME2 I loved, for the simple reason that even if the depth was somewhat less than ME1, they had the good grace to ensure that the combat system & pacing were much tighter (except for the bloody planet scanning, but at least there was less of that if you imported an ME1 save).

DA:I, otoh, is insanely bloated. Simultaneously, the combat control and strategy is barely one level above KotOR, a game over ten years older than it is. Worst cause of bloat is the crafting and item collection, although the war table comes a close second with it's constant nagging " ... has completed their mission" which pulls you out of the experience far too often. Which is a massive shame, as there are some genuinely interesting characters and excellent writing in there, the game just wants to keep throwing grind walls at you instead.

Oh, and the DLC practices... I guess EA assumed everyone was too busy complaining at Blizzard, Ubisoft, Konami et al to notice, but we didn't

I kind of got bored with it, but really need to give it another chance as its def better than DA2. Sometimes i just get distracted by another game that gets my attention..

It is a bit like this: You want to open a door, being in the middle of the quest. But you need shards. To get shards you need to search for them, finding them. sometime it is easy, sometimes it takes an hour to get to that one place on the map. meanwhile you slay/grind a group of enemies for the tenth time, only to see them respawn. You get careless and die, finding out you forgot to save....

And when I play, I want to play a RPG. Not a SIM. In all the epic rpg oy years past, you did not build a castle, you adventured. You did not play nanny to a bunch of idiots, you had party members.

    ^ This. Totally this.

Loved DA:O, and there is much in DA:I to love as well... but ye gods, the tedious busywork buries it so deep by mid-game that industrial tunnelling equipment is required to excavate it.
