    [IMG] Edwin I-18, W-10

Party - Viconia, Korgan, Edwin and Me (Fighter)

According to BG2 Spell Reference Limited wish note

"Don't wait for the Dao to talk to you; talk to him first! The Dao offers choices based on the Wisdom of whoever talks to him; this does not need to be the caster! Let your highest Wisdom character do the talking"

Whenever Edwin casts Limited wish I try Viconia to do the talking but there is no circlet around Djinni. The options pop up automatically whoever casts the spell with no choice who can ask for a wish. Now, the above link is quite old and may be TOB has changed some aspects or not what's confusing me as a new player.

So I request some help regarding Limited Wish, namely,

    1. I dislike drinking potions to raise wisdom and also there are very rare items or (not at all) that set Wisdom score 18. In such cases, Edwin despite high intelligence can't cut through the advantages Limited wish offers and even the powerful "Wish" spell too.
Is there any mod or a tool that can allow Viconia talk djinni whenever Edwin casts Limited Wish?

    2. Is there any item (not potions but rings, etc.) that raises/sets Wisdom to 18? (checked but never found any)

Also, Viconia is missing Holy Smite in priest spell book. Because of her evil alignment or a bug?

    thanks..

No items that raise Wis to 18 I'm afraid. Potions are your best bet. In BG1 there are 3 Tomes that raise your Wis in 1 point increments. I don't think there are any in BG2. Hrothgar's Axe sold by the add-on merchant in the Copper Coronet will raise Wis & Con by 1 point, though that does your mage no good.

The Cleric/Druid NPCs get different spell selections than your vanilla types. Jaheira for instance get's a "Harper's" version of Raise Dead though Druids in general don't receive Raise Dead. Not sure if Viccy gets anyhting different than the standard Evil Cleric spell selection, but I would doubt that an Evil Cleric would receive Holy Smite.

I don't think there are any items that raise your wisdom to 18 permanently or while worn. But if you don't mind cheating a "bit", you can give the scroll to the character with the highest wisdom and use the Potion Swapping trick.

As an Evil Cleric, Viccy doesn't get Holy Smite but Unholy Blight. It works the same way but on good characters instead of evil characters.

The fact that you can't talk to the Djinni is I think part of some fixpack. I used to be able to talk to the Djinni with another character for Wish and Limited Wish, but since I installed the G3 fixpack I can't anymore. That's why the spell reference appears to be wrong (they 'fixed' the chain contigency > helpless > 3x project image cheese too - I wish I could choose what to fix and what not, because I like my cheese).

Some things you could try: Use scroll on high WIS character by drinking any potion and then swapping the potion and the spell in the character's inventory, as Montressor suggests.

Alternatively, I've seen it done (but haven't try to do myself) to use a similar trick as above to get nearly infinite potions of wisdom. To do this, make sure the game doesn't auto-pause when you go into the inventory, then have a single potion of wisdom in your inventory. Drink it, then immediately pick it up out of your inventory. The stack size should go down from 1 to no number. Then do it again. The number should now wrap around to 65535. Voilà, practically infinite potions. You may also be overencumbered now and should probably either drop a few potions or, if you have bottomless bags of holding installed, you can put it in a container. For a demonstration, see also the Baldur's Gate speedrun.

In such a case will stick to potions :( though won't try cheating from other tricks. G3 fix-pack certainly add a challenge by removing the trick which is not that bad and so I will go for Wish instead and save potions for it!..
    Thanks guys!.. :)

Are you people serious with these infinite potions tricks? By the time you get access to 7th level spells, you'll have tons of Potions of Insight from random loot alone, and you can buy more of them pretty much everywhere. And they're cheap.
