Olefix: Just do things against their core beliefs for ... oh ... about twenty years. It worked for me, my family doesn't even visit. I'm the black sheep.

I'm kind of a black sheep in my family too T2Bruno but unfortunately my family accepts me for who I am ... *sigh* The only way out of a family dinner is sickness and they will still drop off a leftover package when the meal is done. :p

I know exactly what you mean. My folks has this annoying habit too. Y'see I'm the "bright one"; apparently I know everything and I must have a great future filled with happiness, joy, sunshine, money, and all that assorted lunacy. How they like to brag about their son the university student.

On the other hand, still according to them, this "higher education" has made me pedantic and elitist. Well excuse me, if I didn't drop out of high school and runaway from home to get married. They've pushed for better education for both me and my sister all my life. What did they expect would happen to me at Uni ?

Maybe the next time you see them Flix you should wear a sideways baseball cap, pants halfway down your hips and several heavy gold chains and rings. You can also throw in a few "yeayh!"s and "bro"s and make sure you walk with a hunch. That should remind your family that being an elitist maybe isn't so bad. ;)

    Playing devil's advocate ...

Would you rather they weren't proud of you, or that you weren't a university student but instead went straight to working in a warehouse somewhere?

Have you considered the possibility that you are being pedantic and elitist?

I don't really mean to single you out and bust your balls (but you sort of volunteered ;)) ... just wish that people would generally give the 'rents a break. They are what they are. Let it be.

Of course not; but their pride is a bit overwhelming. It's like I'm not allowed to fail at anything. And yeah I am a little pedantic, elitist and arrogant. Haven't we met ? For F's sake I insist people call me The Flix

Meh, I was just ranting, blowing off some steam ? Point to me one child in humanity's history who hasn't had, at some point, issues with their parents, as mild as they may be. Actually that scares the hell out of me, I want children someday, but I dunno, I'd probably be a horrible father.

Yep. He wasn't the most important character to the story, but it just wouldn't be the same without Grizltek, Pride of all Flumphs :D

I played NWN but I don't remember that character. It's been a long time since I played that game but I do remember having a lot of fun with it. I think that is the original reason I joined BOM.

I just had a though this morning. Imagine a star wars game with the Skyrim Engine and the same gameplay. Just how awesome would that be ?

Generally speaking, I prefer the Star Trek universe, but you can't deny that the Star Wars universe makes better games. Being all about wars, blowing up stuff, fancy swordplay, and of course, space wizards . I mean, besides maybe Star Trek Armada I & II and Voyager: Elite Force, all trek games are pretty *****y. Just try the genesis (megadrive) DS9 game, urgh...

    Anyway; just a thought.

edit: Then again, it might have been because I recently finished the last imperial legion quest in Skyrim while playing the Imperial March song (y'know the Darth Vader song in the films ? Dum Dum Dum Dum DUM DUM dum DUM DUM, no ? nevermind)

Yeah something like that; though y'know more star wars-ish. Basically Kotor meets Skyrim. That is [/i]Kotor, before the series went to the dark side and continued as a goddamn mmorpg.

[IMG] You put the / to signify a closing tag, not an opening tag ;)

    Code:
    [i ]italics[/i]
I have now left the house for three days in a row :jawdrop:
    All thanks to the Sorcerermobile.

Getting in and out the building I live is a little exhausting though, time to pop the kettle on! Because I bought MILK!

[Edit]had to add a spaceto the first bracket, pretty sure Code tags were supposed to show code in its raw state?
