So when you first leave Candlekeep and Gorion gets killed, if you go back into the Candlekeep map and try to enter the gates, the gaurd tells you the only way to get back into the city is if you have a book to donate to the library. What if you have a book in your inventory? Can you get back in? Will it work with any book if it does?

It only works with a certain book. Keep playing the game, you'll know what it is when you get it.

The book needs to be rare and worth more than most magic items. :)

[IMG] Yup, the 'official' ruling is a book with at least the worth of five thousand gold pieces to ensure only the most worthy of the library are allowed admittance.

The supportive population of the keep are allowed in and out as necessary with people being recognisable to the staff as the population is small enough that everyone is a known face.

Gorion's Ward, however, has made people uncomfortable over the years and was only tolerated as a resident because of his pull. Returning with news of Gorions' Death and a bounty on your head just makes you all the more unwelcome.

I think it's more a matter of Gorion's ward making a single 'person' uncomfortable, namely Ulraunt.

Ulraunt runs Candlekeep very democratically, on the 'one man one vote' principal, per se, he is the one man and he has the one vote, and Charname is Persona Non Grata.

[IMG] Pretty much, but there are also a few other key personalities that make it clear you're unwelcome :)

A case of you only have to tee off the wrong people...

I think one of the dream sequences even mentions someone who storms out calling you something rather harsh. Can't remember the name though.

That's Ulraunt IIRC. But he only says; that child will be the death of you or something to that effect.
