    Anyone seen this movie?

    I've heard its really good, and I don't mind watching a dark gripping tale every once in a while. But I'd like to hear a few opinions before I actually put my $ down for a rental.

    With David Cronenberg directing Viggo Mortensen and Naomi Watts, all you can expect from this film is high caliber acting and directing. This one is dark, dark like A History of Violence (Viggo Mortensen) and Edge of Darkness (Mel Gibson). It's a good watch, especially if you enjoy those Mafia-style movies (Russian Mafia in this case).

    Bought the DVD, and yes, I was blown away. Really dark and brutally honest.

    Took me a little while to figure out that the Chechens going after Nikolai in the bath house meant that the whole initiation process was set up by Semyon to try and save his son from the Chechens.

    There was a bit of a cliche in here as well. The bumbling son trying to live up to his father's legend. Like we haven't seen this before. Nino and Peter Schibetta in Oz. Maurice and Robert Fisher in Inception.
