Umm, so I guess this means if you slap Dungeons and Dragons on a box, people will buy it regardless of what's inside eh? Which I guess means that there need not be any motivation to do any better than creating half cocked, sub par games. Lovely.

Daggerdale is apparently riddled with bugs like most new atari games have been lately and the patch seems to have have created new ones as well.

My understanding is that the game essentially is a bug! :bad:

Well, it was a Lose-Lose situation anyways... if people buy it, they will think a sub par hack´n slash is enough, if they wouldn´t buy it, they would have said D&D is dead anyways...

When I read you only had a limited number of character choices, all my mind heard was: "This is not D & D, this some fantasy based FPS"

D & D game developers need to understand:

    It's about the story
    It's about roleplaying
It's about freedom to make choices and decide your character's fate and abilities.
It's about the game mechanics that made D&D great.

It's funny, but the D&D titles out there are pale imitations of the game. I look back at the Baldur's Gate (and IWD to a lesser extent) series, and even some of the old TSR games in Krynn, and I remember how good it could be. Even TOEE had the right feel, despit the shortness and bugginess of the game - it felt like D&D.

NWN 1 & 2's strongest elements were in the customization and DMing features that made it as close to the PnP game as it could. The best stuff for NWN 1 and 2 came from the community.

No interest in Daggerdale, but now I'm thinking about reloading BG2...
