I was watching a show on Discovery Channel last night, and during one of the commercial breaks was an advertisement for a future show coming up next weekend. There wasn't anything particularly unusual about the ad itself. It's a nature program, detailing the ecosystem of the African plains, with things like lions, elephants, zebra, etc. Typical Discovery Channel educational-informational programming, right? Except for the last part of the ad... "Narrated by Samuel L. Jackson". Now...

It's the Discovery Channel, and it's definitely G-rated, so they cannot do this, but I cannot help but think of Samuel Jackson narrating it in the way he plays his typical movie characters... I'm envisioning something like this:

"OK so here we got some mother-fn' lions in the Great Rift Valley. They call it that 'cause there's the big mother-fn' rift there. So we're following the lions, and GOD DAMN! did you see what that lion just did to that zebra!?! He f'ed him up good! etc. etc. etc...

I'm tired of these MUTHAF***ING CATS in this MUTHAF***ING SHOW!!!

THat's what I thought when I saw the commercial. It is basically a knockoff of "Born to be Wild," narrated by Morgan Freeman. Except instead of a comforting voice, they picked Samuel motherf***ing Jackson.

I'd definitely watch more nature program's if they had funny narrators. I'd love to see the guy out of Friday do it.
