That's it! I'm gonna call you Chandos the Blue. I was called Blueboy for a while. I might as well pass that one over to you.

Some songs by a Dutch/Surinam artist I appreciate. Had a small chat with her. She's kind and down to earth. I like that.

Sabrina Starke - Old Soul (finally a decent upload of this song!)

For some reason I have a hard time not to become too sentimental when I hear this song.
Sabrina Starke - Home Is You

This one makes me feel positive and cheerful

This one is for the women in need of a good vibe and a diehard spirit. Hell, as a man, I feel good listening to this, too.

    Nior - That's nice stuff.

That's mostly for Saturday night, which has been sort of a tradition for me [listening to and playing blues]. I even have Mrs. Chandos listening to blues when our date night falls on Saturday nights. Then we watch a blues, blues rock, concert on DVD on the big screen [last Saturday it was Eric Johnson Live From Austin, Texas].

You guys should consider posting on the "album of the day" thread, when you have time; I would be curious to hear what you are listening to....

    Wanna "talk" some Blues?

Joe Bonamassa - Speaking on "Slow Train," which opens Dust Bowl, the new recording, released this past week.

Joe Bonamassa - Stop [Studio Version]

Anton Fig is on drums now, doing the studio work, The David Letterman's Show drummer for many years [Paul Shaffer's CBS band].

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CBS_Orchestra

Unfortunately there was a recent transition from long-time drummer, Bogie Bowles, to Anton. Anton fig is a fabulous drummer, but there was a certain chemistry between Joe and Bogie that is sorely missed, especially live. Record producers are always particular about drummers and don't like the live, powerful, ambient sound that many good "live" drummers possess.

Record producers seem to like that "dead," listless, 1970s drum tone. It's no wonder they have turned to machines. Please note that I don't place Anton in that category, since he has a very good sound both in and out of the studio, IMO. His playing on The Ballad of John Henry and Dust Bowl is just great. Edit: I wanted to add that I don't put Bonamassa's producer [Kevin Shirley] in that crowd either.

Slow Train [Live with Bogie on drums]

Roomful of Blues - Good Love. I'm not really a huge fan of "jump" blues, [I like it in small doses] but I really like this band.

Jethro Tull - A New Day Yesterday

The Ramones - The KKK took my baby away

Wow, you can really notice that it is a video from bygone eras: they didn't give a toss about their visual image.

I think they had a pretty strong visual image; sunglasses, leather jackets, tight torn jeans, Chuck's... and the fact that they dressed more or less in unison. They do look a bit unlike themselves in the outdoor scenes, but they also sound a bit unlike themselves in this song: boring. :p

But I didn't really took you for a Ramones fan Morgoth :)

The music is apparently from just the studio version. The visual image, I mean their posture in both the outdoor and the concert videos, it's just so awkward.. :D

I'm not really a fan, I just like the music ;)

    But now, something completely different:

    Slagsmålsklubben - Kasta Sten

    The Saturday Night Blues. :)

    CCR - Midnight Special

Ten Years After - Slow Blues In C

Joe Bonamassa - The Ballad Of John Henry

House of the Rising Sun - Frijid Pink

Some people have thought that this old blues song was about a gambling hall, others, a house of prostitution; I think it's a song about a prison in New Orleans. But no one seems to know for sure. Regardless, this is an interesting version.

The late Gary Moore - King Of The Blues. He was indeed a blues rockin' king!
