Dragon Age Nexus is on. LINK.

After Oblivion and Fallout 3 it's now time for Dragon Age to be on the Nexus. Good news. ;)

Good news indeed. You can upload mods on BioWare's social site, but it's so painful to navigate over there that I'm glad a 3rd party jumped in.

I'll miss the Vault though, they apparently have no plans for a DAVault website.

Well, I have some experience with the Nexus and I can say it's a very good site, it's comprehensive and easy to browse and it has a large community of modders. Plus it's really easy to download stuff from that site.

The Bioware site is really crowded so I'm glad the Nexus offers an alternative. The Nexus also allows modders to post links for their mods there even if the files are not hosted on the Nexus. That's pretty cool.

I have uploaded some mods there for Fallout 3 and I think I'll probably end up modding Dragon Age after I finish a few runs through the game. Learning how to use a toolset is daunting at first but when you get how it works it's not that hard. I'm not that good with computer stuff so I usually keep my mods simple but effective. The way I see it, less is more as far as modding is concerned (unless you've got some serious computer skills). The important thing is not to break anything in the process and that calls for method. Always keep track of what you've done and keep an eye open for suggestions and don't be afraid to ask other (more qualified) modders.

If I can mod Heroes V and Fallout 3 I guess anyone can. Where there is a will there is a way.

By the way, are there some plans to include mods on SP? There is a Dragon Age section after all and we all know how much Tal is fond of dragons.

The DA section on SP will start getting filled up very shortly, so you can definitely count on a lot of DA material around here.

    Even better news!

I've started fiddling with the toolset and it is really daunting. There seems to be a way to make some really good /weird faces for characters. I've tried making one who looked a lot like Mystique from the X men but it sure is a lot of work and that's even before actually getting that face to show up in game. Enough for now.

I don't know if anyone knows of any good mods to comment upon, it's early for a list but I thought that I'd post about two mods that I enjoy a lot:

    -White teeth.
This one makes everybody looks better with less yellow brownish teeth. Smile! :D

    -Circles be gone.
It does just that, it gets rid of the circles. Now screenshots won't be marred by those huges yellow and red circles that are totally useless (you've got the map to indicate foes anyway).

    Any suggestions?

The Nexus is great for finding mods, but I'd warn people against getting involved at all in the community there. Negative comments (including constructive criticism, it seems) on mods tend to get deleted, and in some cases you'll get banned for posting them. It can also be tricky to find quality mods, given the userbase's tendency to either vote 10 or not vote at all.

Worst of all though, judging by what I've seen on the Fallout 3 nexus, is that the people in charge apparently have no problems with pedophilia as long as nothing technically illegal is hosted on the site.

As for mods themselves, there are two that I use that I highly recommend:
Camp storage chest: Exactly what it sounds like, puts a storage chest in your camp. Very handy if, like me, you can't stand selling items that have names.
Character respecialization: Allows you to unlearn and reallocate all of your (or any party NPC's) attribute, skill, and talent points. Especially useful for mages, if you want to try out all of the spells or if you're unhappy with some of the ones you picked. It also works for specialization points, so if you don't want Morrigan to be a shapeshifter anymore you can do something about it.

Actually now either you endorse a file or not, no more ratings (and that is way better).

Some mods are unpalatable to put it lightly (Nazi uniforms for instance), but I've never run into such mods for Fallout 3 and I did spend quite some time browsing the site. I'm glad I didn't see those mods.

Character respecialization looks very interesting thanks for the link.
