Hello, I`m new to this board and haven`t played Baldurs Gate in ages.

I wanted to ask if any of you would bother to give me some help, since I`m kind of lost in all the available Mods out there.

What I`m looking for, is a mod that let`s me play BG1 and 2 plus expansions, as close to the original as possible, with a maximum of fixed bugs and the comfort to play BG1 with the BG2 engine.

I stumbled across a mod wich is called "Baldurs Gate Trilogy" and my question is: Is this what I`m looking for? Are there any better alternatives? Any other good BGT-compatible mods out there that`d fit into what I`m looking for?

Excuse me if this question or thread popped up a million times before and also for my bad English, since I`m not a native speaker.

    Thx in advance

Welcome to the Boards Loki! ;)

I don't have much to say about Trilogy because after giving Easy Tutu a try I've never looked back. If you want the gameplay to be as close to the original as possible then you won't install many mods but I'd like to point out the existence of mods like Unfinished Business or the NPC mod, although they add content they don't radically change the game.

Anyway, since what you want is to play BG1 with the BG2 engine you should try Easy Tutu. There is a thread in the Mod Reviews forum that Brallock posted a few years ago. You should read it. There are only a few issues and none of them are really game breaking (provided you save once in a while and use different saves especially around Beregost).

Last but not least, don't worry about your English, I'm not a native speaker either but as far as I can tell it's certainly not bad. ;)

Yup, your options are either Baldur's Gate Trilogy or EasyTutu.

I've always used Tutu but I tried Baldur's Gate Trilogy - WeiDU from spellholdstudios.net last year and thought it was rather good too, I definitely want to go back and give it a fair chance (I only played it briefly before but signs were good). Mods for the BG1-on-BG2-engine usually support both BGT and EasyTutu, so it really comes down to which one you like the sound of better.

Tutu compatible mods and the recommended install order

BGT compatible mods & BGT specific mods & maybe BiG World Project

Thanks for the replies, I went for BGT with Unfinished Business and this bugfix patch installed.

It`s great, I`m really having fun with this game. Thanks a lot.
