Unable to exit Malavon's area

    I entered Malavon's area, killed the Golemsand umber hulks and Malavon too. Got all of the goodies in his storage areas but when I tried to exit through the door, it shows a purple area and the door but it won't open. My party is stuck in th ere. Anybody know how to get out. It is the only door in or out.

    I have entered malavon's area more than once

    I have saved before going in. I save twice not counting auto save.
    The first time I started battle and tried to retreat after killing a couple of golems and umber hulks. I tried to leave the area to rest then go back in to finish the job but therewas no dore.

    The second time I killed the golems and umber hulks and malavon. Then she appeared and I was too weak by that time to finish her off so I had to re-enter again and start again.

    The next time I did kill all but she didn't appear and I coldn't get out. The door was there but had that purple box around it. It won't open.

    I recommend loading your autosave and trying again.
    The exit closes when you talk to Malavon and reopens when he's dead, so you can kill a few Umber Hulks and exit before doing the big thing.
    If nothing else works you can use the cheat console, but I recommend trying again.

    only killed clone

    I killed Malavon's clone and all umber hulks but the real one didn't appear.
    I have tried walking from one side to another but he doesn't appear. I did save before going in on a second save so I am going to other areas first before going back there last.

    back in fighting Malavon

    Since I saved before going in the first time I used that save to gather the other 5 badges and do everything else except Kill Malavon. Noiw I am back in and chasing the real Malavon. It's been 13 months since I started Ice Wind Dale.

    I killed Malavon and got the sixth badge and unlocked the stairwell up. I tried to go back to deliver the seeds and birds etc but I am unable to use the gateway to get to other towns. Seems to be something wrong with my game. :-( I used another saved game to engage poqueline and was transported back to destroyed easthaven still with my birds and seeds. I first went south and freed the hostagres. then I went to the shore and got the sword but have been unable to locate the priest or find a way into the crystal palace.
