A romance with Aerie

Guys can you tell me how to get a romance with aerie? I had tried this before but every time I got the conversation with aerie about "visit uncle quayle" she left the group and never comes back. How can you solve this problem?

Fel has done all the work except read it to us. If it doesn't have your answer, I'll be shocked.

 

Prepare to be shocked...that's only for the ToB portion of the romance. Saerdna posting in the SoA forum, combined with the fact that the conversation about visiting Quayle would make no sense if you couldn't get to him, indicates that this is an SoA problem, not a ToB one. Go talk with Uncle Quayle at the circus tent. Aerie left because you probably took too long (3 days?) to go see Quayle.

 

There's actually no time limit on that.

 

I imagine that when she requests to go to see Uncle Quayle, that there's a response from you in there. Just make sure you don't say anything stupid, and she shouldn't run away.

 

@Rastor - I've had her leave over taking to long to see Quayle (after the requisite whining, of course).

 

I just had a look at Aerie's scripts and dialogue files. Here's the deal:

Aerie reminds the player about visiting Quayle and Raelis after two days. She'll remind the player about Raelis again after another two days. She won't leave the party after any of this stuff on her own.

Maybe you have some mod installed that changes this. Mine are the vanilla files with ToB installed and fully patched, with no mods.

 

This was with the patch and Baldurdash. I hadn't used other mods until I tried all the romances first.

 

I don't have it to look and I'm too lazy to go find it at the moment since it's mothers day but doesn't Baldurdash say something about fixing those dialogs where people should leave and they don't for some reason? Such as Aerie going to see Quayle?

 

As in real life....

Be supportive, listen to her, never make fun of her.

Do what she tells you to. If she wants to visit Uncle Quayle -- GO. When she wants to visit Raelis -- GO.

Accepting Haer'Dalis makes the romance with Aerie a bit tricky. You cannot keep them both and maintain the romance (without cheating).

She does not get along with Korgan. Don't have him in your party.

She does not get along with Anomen if he fails his test. Do not go the revenge path.

Do not let her die, be petrified, mazed or imprisoned.

I've never run into any bugs with her romance. Just treat her like a fragile young woman who needs constant reinforcement of her worth.

 

Are you kidding!? Korgan has some of the best dialog in the entire game between Aerie and Jaheira! Just use the 'happy party' component from the EoU mod, and you'll be just fine. No NPCs leaving or killing each other.

IMO, this is where most people go wrong. People think that a simple 'Freedom' spell will get her back...and it will...just without the romance. If she's out of the party for an instant (dies, petrified, mazed, or imprisoned) you have to reload the game.

the only time she can leave the party is after you go to the graveyard district in Ch6. And even then, you should hurry up and kick some serious evil arse to get your love back!

Although it only takes a second to rectify that with the cosole. There will also be a fix for that in the G3 fixpack.
