    Hello,

my thief was charmed and since I didn't have dispell anymore, I regained control of him by dominating him with my wizard. When the effect wore off, I wasn't able to select him again. Neither by killing and resurrecting, going to another area, I even went to a new chapter (I was right at the end of chapter when this had happened).

    Thank you for your time!

Casting dispell magic at him might be worth a try if you haven't done it yet.
Another option is removing your thief when the party formation screen pops up and replacing him with an exported version from an older save game.
If you are able to select your thief's inventory by scrolling from other characters' inventory you can trade his items to other characters before replacing him.

Dispel didn't work, and even exporting/importing didn't do it so I suspect there is a problem in the charachter sheet. Any more ideas?

Recreate the character using DaleKeeper I guess. That might work.

Greater restoration might help. If you do manage to get control of him (without changing him) then you might find that the rest of your party attack him. Just let them kill him to get it out of their systems

This happened to me once with a barbarian...I couldn't find a way to fix him so I had to remove him from the party and import a similar character into his empty slot.

DaleKeeper is one option, but if you don't want to install it there is a way to do it via the cheat console inside the game. PM me for codes that will help you recreate your character.
