Getting cheats to work

    I have been trying to get the cheats thing working for about a week and it still does not work.

    So if you got anything that can help me please post something.

    No i dont have that but i was on gamespot and it said nothing about having to have that.

    I think cheats work differently depending on if you have the expansion or not...

    Apparently you must have the latest official patch for the cheats to work. For Icewind Dale only look here: http://www.sorcerers.net/Games/IWD/iwdcheats.php

    It might be helpful if you post what you've tried so people can see what you might have done wrong.

    Also if you have Heart of Winter and Trial of the Luremaster installed the cheats are some what different in the first part of what you type. I found a text file for the Heart of winter cheats on a CD. :D

    I do not know where i found them a few years ago but it is possible i found them here on SP, i just found it back today on a old CD. And since on many sites that have cheats you often only see the IWD cheats, i thought to place them here for those that didn't have them. :)

    ok, ive looked but i cannot find the "icewinddale.ini" file, i have the readme if thats what its supposed to be, but i really am having trouble trying to figure the cheat menu out. i have HoW. ive found a few websites that tell me i need to open up the "ini" file, but the closest thing i can find to "ini" is the "setup.inx" file

    It is icewind.ini and may be hidden. You may need to be able to see hidden files.

    I don't think I can get any more detailed than Amnis was above -- except to have you do a file search to find icewind.ini.

    You may want to consider using Dalekeeper (which can be found on the boards here). You can alter stats, hit points and gold -- along with a few other things. It depends on what you want to use the cheats for.

    after using search i have found that there is not icewind.ini file on my computer, atleast one that is showing up. i have heart of winter, but that and the base game both came from disks, i havent gotten any updates for the game offline, does that have anythign to do with it?
