    See the trailer here:

It looks pretty good. Cross your fingers people, we may have the first good movie adaptation of a video game.

I really hope this is good, if only to do justice to the game which was wicked cool. Even rarer, its sequel was also awesome.

Eh, it looks alright. I never played much of the Max Payne games, but I don't remember any storylines containing angels and stuff, so that looks goofy and overreaching to me. Still, Marky Mark tends to pick pretty decent movies on the whole. Also, I thought Tomb Raider was passable.

Me, I'm waiting for 2010, when the Bioshock movie comes out. THAT one is going to be great. And no, Ewe Boll isn't going anywhere near it, it's being directed by Gore Verbinski, the man behind the Pirates of the Carribbean movies. It'll be good, so long as he doesn't try to make it family friendly. With Verbisnki at the helm we can be sure he'll be getting a big enough budget to do the visuals justice.

I loved the game, even had fun with the sequel, which makes me reluctant to see this film. Hopefully it will be nice. *crosses fingers*

Also... not much from the trailer rings any bells to me, in terms of the story. Especially not the angels. But that could be just me.

Is that Marky Mark as Max!?

Oh bollocks! This ain't good! Watching the trailer gave me no real Max Payne feeling!
And why does Mona wear that rubber outfit!

Bugger, I have a feeling this will butcher the original!

The angels and demons and stuff are probably hallucinations and stuff or nightmares. If you guys remember, in the game Max was drugged with Valkyr causing him to experience hallucinations and stuff. Also, there were a bunch of nightmare sequences with the same town, with babies crying in the background, etc.

And one of the bosses surrounded himself with the imagery of blood sacrifices and babbled about "the flesh of fallen angels"

If I remember right, the guy had gone overboard with the designer halucinogen that the game was tracking...

Wow, I have to say it does actually look pretty cool. Here's to hoping we'll finally have a good movie based on a video game.

Well, the trailer looks cool AND corny at the same time. I fear for the much beloved Max Payne.

I didn't like the trailer much, I like the actor playing Max Payne though. I too greatly enjoyed the first Max Payne, too bad they killed him off in part two, but it was a good way to end a great story.

Wait, Max Payne didn't die in part two.

Mona did. And if you win in the harder mode, the ending left that fact ambiguous

Mila Kunis is playing Mona Sax, and some black fellow in his 30s is playing Max`s 60 year old boss. Going to suck badly this one.

Max survived the second game. He had to live to tell the tale...

That also leaves their Cash cow alive if they come up with a worthy story line to churn out another game...

Yeah, Max lived at the end of part 2. Faye, really? I'll have to dig it up and play it again, I didn't know there was an alternate.

So I just watched the trailer. My response was, well, derisive laughter. I'll almost certainly rent it, for much the same reason I rented Dragon Wars. I'll probably enjoy it the same way I enjoyed DW.

Though I'm willing to be pleasantly surprised.
