So I'm using Vista, with patches 1 and 2 installed (no Co8 patches-my first time through the game), and the game is generally running fine-no loot bug, for instance.

I'm on the 2nd level, and saving is becoming a huge issue now. I had problems going back to the moathouse, but it has gotten worse. Every time after I save, I check it to see if it works, and lately, it appears 1 out of 4 actually work, the other 3 are corrupt. Obviously, this is really frustrating. I know nothing can be done to correct the saves, too.

My questions for people with similar issues:
    1. Are there any particular things that trigger a save to corrupt? I thought at one point saving with bodies on the screen might be doing it. Doesn't appear to be true now. But are there other ways to minimize the chances?

    2. Will it just continue to get worse?

    3. I do have two NPCs (Selena and the drunk fighter), and a wolf as an animal compainon for my ranger. Could they be causing issues?

    Thanks.

Never use quicksaves. They become corrupt very easily. It's best to employ an 'array' of full saves - at least 5 of them - and overwrite as you go. That way you'll very likely have a good save at any given point that isn't too far back in the game.

    That shouldn't matter, no.

Actually, I don't use the quicksave function at all. I always do it from the menu. I did see that they are even more unreliable.

I will say that it has been more stable recently, altough it still is problematic. I just hope it doesn't get worse the more I play.
