It's official, I have a cold. Coughing all day, sinuses functioning, but straining under the excess crap my body is getting rid of, and I can't seem to keep warm, no matter what I do.

ION: I took a win on Civ IV with Alexander the Great ruling the Zulu after 35 hours of play time. Marathon games take forever...

My family is such a buzz-kill. The wife and I went out for dinner, and I had a few very stong drinks. When we got home, we figured we'd just get seriously drunk and play some Xbox...but my mormon cousin came over... He just left, and I'm not even remotly buzzed anymore! But I do have a headache from dealing with family members. :bad: :rolling:

With the number of times that you use this forum to bang your head off a brick wall, I can't say that I'm surprised.

I had to give my compy a shot of epi, the thing was BSoDing on me!

I'm guessing it's because something keeps overheating, thanks to my rather elvish sense of time...

Sadly, it's not how I spent mine. Instead spent it looking after her, then making it to the pub for a grand total of 10 minutes.

Still, I got to sleep next to her last night, which more than makes up for it.

Yurk, between insane bosses and virulent viruses (redundant? nah) we are a sorry bunch. Kudos to the bright lights with new jobs and good exam results and sympathies to everyone else.
As for me, I didn't really get sick yesterday but I am pessimistically waiting for it to happen.
And we're on winter weather watch for freezing rain tonight into tomorrow. Lovely.
So, babble on without me when the power goes out.

Work was a little too exciting yesterday, what with some idiot showing up on campus with a gun. No shots fired, and said idiot has been arrested.

I've been away from home for the better part of four years now.. I used to think it was a great escape, I could do whatever I want, I had all the freedom, etc.

But now, after applying for permanent residency in Australia, I suddenly feel so homesick, especially after seeing everyone during my 10 day holiday back home about two weeks ago.

Have been feeling down ever since and am thinking of what to do next, should I just leave and go back, or try to tough it out.

Strife, hard one. Homesickness came and went for me for a number of years. I'm a :geezer: now and I guess I AM home, wherever I happen to live. Does applying for permanent residency cut off any options for you?

We are going to miss seeing the lunar eclipse, too, due to clouds. And the weather forecasters are so coy about the weather tomorrow

There's many factors that may affect my decision.. if you're interested just PM me and I guess we'll talk privately, beats boring everyone here with all the nitty gritty details.

But in short, getting Australian permanent residency means I have to reside in Australia for 2 years out of every 5. I don't have to stay for 2 years at one go, I can reside for say, 3 months, leave the country for 2 months, come back for another 6 months, and so on.

But, as you can imagine, staying in Australia in spurts is not conducive to landing a job, nor am I rich enough to support that sort of lifestyle. So, if I want to keep the PR (which is taking ages to process), it basically means settling down in Australia.

Been there, done that. I can remember playing Mesh Assault with my cousin while my brother tried to score some dope in the other room one day at his place. The other guys we wanted to hang out with after he left were long gone by then.
