Happy birthday, man! How old are you know now?

Writer's note: I dropped my keyboards while doing this reply. No, seriously I did. I often lay back on my comfy chair with me keyboard on my lap, and it fell. Riiiight.... Movin' on.

@ Saber - Happy birthday guy, I hope you feel better soon.

@ Ragusa - Cute  I'm not sure you understand the concept of Alberta in February, but I'll let it pass considering you are so creative in coming up with winter activities. I'll have you know that being the true Canadian that I am I have on occasion run outside in the snow in bare feet. Once to grab my cat who was trying to escape the house when she wasn't allowed, and the other time was because I had to close the gate and was too lazy to find some boots. If I had prepared some hot water in a basin before hand I would have stuck my feet in there immediately as soon as I got back in from the snow. Since there was no hot water waiting for me I chose the route of swearing loudly to myself and grabbing the nearest fabric to rub my feet with. Having had that experience I have chosen to avoid it again.

I'm thinking that you might enjoy the Polar Bear club though, if you ever got the opportunity.

Taking the night shift to keep the fire going due to the rather cold wind we have here tonight. Should check on it soon. It's almost time for another drink, so I think I can kill two birst with one stone...

Winter needs to end. We've gotten so much snow, that the plows have nowehere to move it to. On many roads, the snow bank created by the plows is over 10 feet high! They had to shut down a major road I use quite often so a tractor and dump truck could get rid of all the snow and ice that had piled up. On the news, they were asking people to use Kool-Aid to mark places where they knew a fire hydrant was burried by snow so city workers could come a dig it out. :bad:

But there's hope...today, the temp was 41 degrees (F)! That's the first time it's been over 40 degrees in months! The nights are still well below freezing however...

/me sings: "We're having a heat wave, a tropical heat wave..." :p :rolling:

    Dragonfly,
living in Cologne I'm well used to a harsh, arctic climate :shake: so the Polar Bear Club sounds perfect for me. Now off to a warm shower :holy:

I did that the year we moved to Utah. The local recreation center has a yearly event called 'The Polar Plunge' where you have to dive in to one of their pools that hadn't been heated all winter long, you have to stay in for at least 1 minute and then you can run off to one of the jacuzzis or the steam rooms. They give anyone who does it a prize. The year I did it, they measured the water temperature at 38 degrees, the air temp was 20 degrees, and the jacuzzis were 103 degrees. The jacuzzis were also about 50 yards from the pool, so you have to walk quickly (no running on the pool deck!) to get to some warmth. I got a certificate that says I survived the 'Polar Plunge' and has the three degrees recorded on it along with a lame t-shirt. Totaly not worth the shrinkage.... :rolling:

Winter over here has been pretty mild. A little snow and some poor weather, but not as much as I would have thought. Bit disappointing really.

I for one, despise cold and consider snow a four letter epithet...
That's why I stay down here in Florida.
ION, I'm dealing with a sinus infection, and this is the final week of classes for Spring A semester.
Not a fun combination, especially with dental surgery scheduled for Friday.

Dragon3, thanks for inquiry; I am indeed in Tennessee but in the eastern part of the state and we did not have the tornadoes, though we had some thunderstorms and winds that took down branches and blew out some signs and false storefronts. Were you able to contact your family, ever?

Flix, re spelling, capitalize Egyptian but not deities. I can imagine a sentence, though, where in context you might capitalize "deity" singular - theology of a particular faith, for instance, might call for references to its god to be capitalized.

Re me, I am home, moderately , I think due to my excessive adventurousness in eating my own leftovers. Ugh, just say no if you're not sure, lads and lasses.

Eek. I chose philosphy, long history, long music and ICT (there wasn't a long option for it :aww:) as my optional subjects for next year. And they're all going to be in English, yikes.

(me adds Dfly's pinkstuff to own cocktail, quaffs Potion of Antiquesiness, umm, good - NOT!)
Thanks, Dfly, I'm a little better. Probably my own fault, because, oddly enough, I've not been as sick as those suffering from the stomach ailment currently going around the community.
    Trell, philosophy rocks.

So many dishes needing done before tomorrow's cleaners...and none of them are mine. I better not get woken up because certain flatmates didn't bother to do their share.

Urgh, caught a flu bug while on holiday, and suffering at work now.

Feeling fuzzy-headed, dry cough, a bit hard to breathe, tight-chested, bah!

Having to quickly decipher some code doesn't help either.. especially when it's a language I'm not familiar with.

Another All nighter watching the fire. Hopefully tomorrow morning goes better than this morning for sleeping. I went to bed at 6 am. About 9, a customer called and wanted a load of hay, so I had to go out to load her truck. About 10 I got back to bed. Then at noon there was a phone call for me. Sure they were worth getting out of bed for, but it makes me very tired tonight...

Hi everyone. I'm in Oregon now and have some interviews coming up. I hope they go well. My wife had to stay home until I find a job. The sooner I find one the sooner she can come up here. It sucks being apart from her.
