importing BG character

    how can i import my BG character? in BG there were a few hints that i can use my BG character in NWN. I finished the BG saga and about to start NWN diamond edition

    You can't.
    Since the ruleset changed to 3rd edition between the games, they decided to forget that idea.

    And seriously, starting the game with a level 40 character?

    You can still get a good comparison character if you liked the one you had in BG. The rulesets are very different, but I managed to mimic my BGII swashbuckler rather well with a rogue/shadowdancer and thoroughly enjoyed watching the way he could develop with the new rules. Besides, stagnating on the same old high level character gets boring after a while.

    Oh this had me perplexed as well. I did not consider at the time the level ups,just wanted to retain my character for other games as was hinted. I did not like TOB(+6 weapons and many encounters with +3 this and that,eroded the game appeal for me) that much,so I hoped NWN would be better to continue with? But,alas no more. Thanks anyway for letting me also know.
