    I just bought a replacement motherboard for one that went bad and it has AGP 8x support. There is a warning not to use a 3 volt AGP card in the motherboard, only use a 1.5 volt card. The old motherboard was only AGP 4x and had no such warning. I have an ATI board I am not sure if I can use with my new motherboard. But the ATI site has no kind of information I can find. The ATI graphics card does not have a model number on it anywhere, just a P/N 1027070300 040261 so I do not know what model it is. I think it is a series 7000 radeon board. It is a Radeon with 64K memory. But even if I did know the exact model, I see nowhere to find the specs for it. Everything on the ATI site is general info for all boards. I am trying to find out what voltage it uses. Any ideas on how/where to search?

    Asking this where you've bought it would probably be your best bet... I guess you've discarded the manual that came with it? It'd contain the information you need.

    You can view some more info of your card by clicking
    Start->Run
    type "dxdiag", press enter and then select the 'Display' tab. The exact model should come up under the 'name' or 'chipset' field. A google search may be helpful, but as Tal suggested, taking it back to where you got it from might be the best bet.

    You can look at the compatibility of your card by the notches in the contacts of your vid card, like expained in the compatibility section of wikipedia. However, do take into consideration the warning about not all cards correctly implementing this, although I'd assume ATI to do it correctly.
