Righty-ho...I'm basically looking for some free program that will allow me to create and edit music files. I already have Audacity, but that's quite limited. I had some program on another PC years ago that was a kind of drag-and-drop-the-sound-clip-you-like thing and it was lovely to use, I haven't a clue what it was called or anything, but it would be great if there was something like that I could get free somewhere.

Any help is really appreciated, ta in advance.

I am not sure what you mean by creating audio files. I am guessing that you either want to record your own sounds or create a new sound clip from existing sounds files. Generally video editors allow you to edit audio clips and windows comes standard with audio recorders. I will ask around if you want but I am not too sure if there are many free ones as I use the one that comes in the Ulead suite. I will try find something over he next day and post it same time tomorrow.

Yeah, I was planning on trying to create some music and edit files I already have. I've tried using some of the default Windows ones but they're quite basic and I'm looking to try and do more complex stuff. Thanks for your help! :)

You aren't thinking about Pro Tools are you? IRRC, Pro Tools is the program designed for use in studios and costs a *lot* of money.

Tell me again why Audacity won't work for waht you need to do? Are you just looking for a file converter? :rolling:

No, I am just trying to find this program that I have used before. The interface involved dragging and dropping instrument sound effects onto a timeline and arranging them how you want to create a music track from scratch, I'm just wondering if I can get something similar to that.

Well, you have Acoustica. Which I use to create my own mixes and it works wonders.

@Drathir: The only program like that I've seen (I don't mix myself) is FL Studio (used to be called "Fruityloops").
