    Hey guys, My computer was just scanned and freed of all viruses afaik but now I want to know what to use to keep it that way.

    Right now all I have is the McAfee Virus scan.

    What else do I need? Spyware scanners, etc? I need something that's going to pop-up on a dilog box and say THIS IS A VIRUS, WHADDYA wanna do? Because if it just says dgffg.dll is installing,etc. I wont know if I nweed it or not.

    It'll all have to be free stuff I'm afraid. Please post links with your comments. Thanks all.

    Adaware and Spybot Search and Destroy - use the free ware versions every few days to scan for vulnerabilities - MS Antispyware Beta - is not bad - considering its free.
    I always use Hijackthis if I suspect there are any problems - this is also free but you need to ensure you know what your doing because you can kill machine critical processes.
    Keep windows updated and consider getting a firewall, if you haven't already.
