Here's a carbon footprint calculator, quite interesting to do

Mine was 7.82 compared to a national average of 10.22 so not too bad :)

    2.67 tonnes per year

vs national average of 4.48 tonnes
vs target average of 2.12 tonnes

Fun quiz, considering I don't live in the UK.

7.59 for me. Seems reasonably average although I did estimate some of the answers a bit vaguely.

Wow...in a 2 bedroom apartment, I got a score of 5.47... I guess a natural gas central air system, 100% fluorescent light bulb replacement, and the fact that we don't use much power makes a difference. :rolling:

Yeah...I just figured that out.

So the fact that I fly and drive to California quite often rose my score quite a bit. :hmm: Oh well. :rolling:

That survey is clearly from the UK...my 2.0 liter engine is on the high side of the "medium" sized engines. "Large" is any engine over 2.0 liters! :rolling:

    7.78 tonnes.

The house fails as it is old and doesn't have cavity walls, nevermind insulation in them.

Otherwise it's the car - which is about as low as I can get it anyway. And the one holiday a year.

Umm, what did you guys put as your postal code if you don't live in the UK?

I was too frightened to put anything lest I mess up their statistics, and I didn't do the whole thing because of that...

Gah! 15.38 tonnes per year, all because I drive close to 40,000 miles per year (my house and appliances combined were less than 0.5). There's absolutely no way I can get this number lower. I did include business travel in this, which I probably shouldn't have.

It's definitely a UK test. My primary car has a 2.0 liter engine in it, which is one of the smallest that can be bought in this country, but it's still considered a large engine by their standards.

1.12. Then again, I did the individual test...I can't drive, don't own any washing machine/dryer whatever, but I do go home in the weekend and use my parents' appliances...still, I don't think that I have a very large footprint. I always use public transport and use recycled paper. Also have the green light bulb thingies.

As an update, I was watching some Live Earth concerts and browsing the maine site when I came across a link to a carbon footprint calculator for US citizens.

    Here's the link: http://liveearth.msn.com/green/calculator

It doesn't have nearly as many questions as the UK one though.

My score with the US calculator is 7.5. :rolling:
