Who else plays the game always on insane mode? I think insane mode is still to easy after beating the game once.

A 'Heart of fury mode' on BG2 would be great.

[IMG] It think it doesn't change the game that much. You still use the same tactics as when playing on normal mode. Have you played it solo? You can try playing classes you normally don't and get a challenge that way. I prefer normal mode and play to experience new things, dialogues and tactics. There are still many NPC's I haven't experienced fully.

Or if you really want a challenge how about playing with the four stooges party. Each has the crappest statistic allowed for his class (9 wisdom for a Priest etc). As the site describes it " A classic party only in the sense that there is a Fighter, a Cleric, a Thief and a Mage. After that, class goes out the window!" If you're interested take a look at:
    http://jarvsoft.webjump.com/classes/classes.html

PS I'm sure someone is going to correct me on that link but it seems the only way to get through on my connection - and it is painfully slow to download.

PPS I've corrected myself. Apperently the correct address is now:
    http://www.planetbaldursgate.com/allclasses/p4stooges.html

    It's still painfully slow though.

[IMG] If you like a challenge, try playing a wizard slayer. NO magical item except weapon and armour, this will make life extremeily difficult.

I played the computer on insane mode, using a druid going solo. I also was drunk, had my computer monitor turned off and was passed out for most of the 2 hours I played.

    I had easy victory.

i think the wizardslayer cannot drink any potions too so that will make the game that much harder

But, still, he's the one that can kill those stupid wizards.... If he could drink potions, I would now be a wizardslayer instead of a berserker...

Everyone repeats themselvs. Every day there seems to be a new topic saying how easy bg2 is.
How about trying to play without any cheesy tacktics? No cloudkill/stand out of sight, no attacking blue circle creatures, not using shadowkeeper, not removing the XP cap. THe game is easy if you play like that, but that's up to you.

Neither do I, but I always give what I got, so I won't stop using a particulair spell to make it harder.
I really need a (easy to use and relaible) creature editor.

Yes there is repetition on this board. But repetition is a teaching and instructing tool. It also produces an atmosphere here of 'community like thinking and mutual agreement'.

Nevertheless there have been posts numerous times before mentioning how easy BG2 is. I've even posted statements that some could come to view that I'm saying the game is easy as well. The real fact is: You as a real person now has experience with the game. You as a real person enjoy 'knowledge gathering and knowledge sharing' on BG2 boards like this one that increases your gaming skill, insights and tricks.

Take those away... all of them and BG2 would be a struggle your first time through the game. It's our experience and other forum poster's here that help us have better tactics, methods and insights that make the game easier. Even on Insane Mode. Which really just changes the damage dealt... it doesn't make the AI in the game more advanced and developed.

I'd like to see folks post statements about 'how easy...' NeverWinter Nights is when the "pause key" is done away with and the Intelligence behind the monster party you are fighting is controlled by a DM or some other sick individual bent on slaying you. :) Yep when you die... there is no "reload". You had better have friends who can ressurect you -one's that don't pillage your valuables first that is.
