:heh: The sad thing is, here in SLC, UT...the light rail trains are the *only* reliable part of the public transportation system. A train is at each station every 15 minutes on the dot...unless some idiot parks on the tracks and causes a crash; in that case it might take a couple extra minutes for the trains behind the crash to cordinate rails to get around it.

The lousy bus I usually have to take home from work is always late! :bang: One day, I was 10 minutes early to the stop, and it didn't show up for over an hour after it's scheduled time! :flaming: I was really mad...and the bus driver acted like he was right on time. :bang: :flaming:

That's the only route I've ever had problems with so far. :rolling:

Since getting a car the only times I've ever used public transport is either to get to the pub (when I can't face the 3 mile walk) or once to get into London.

Even with the governments attempts to try and price people out of the market, I'd still rather drive. At the moment I can walk to work (would take longer to drive), and trying to go and watch some football would be a nightmare on public transport.

I don't like an unreliable system. Poor schduling and continual problems with keeping to the timetable really don't impress me. I don't appreciate a train being late enough to miss the last connecting bus home (at least they had the decency not to charge me for that trip). Neither does late alterations to the route too. I've spent a bit of time in Switzerland, and if we had a system as good as theirs was, I'd be happy to use it.
