I just got this link from a friend.

    www.shayesaintjohn.com
(no offensive content as far as I know)

I looked at it, and I think it's some lady that was an aspiring model, but then had a horrible accident. I guess she went crazy. My other friend said it was a joke. I don't know what this is, but it sure is freaky....

I just needed some other opinions.

That's beyond wierd. Very disturbing. :mommy:

So disturbing I've visited the site like 3 times in the last few hours (sort of a "deer in headlights" kinda thing) and run a google on "Shaye Saint John" to figure out if it's real or not. It's probably some goofy performance artist, in which case he/she is pretty brilliant, I'd say. If not...well, I don't even know. If somebody is nutty enough to do things like that and get somebody to make movies out of it all....good lordy.

Believe it or not folks, I'm speechless here. ME! Speechless.

Apparently, she lives in an apartment with some film-makers who film her and care for her. Or...this could be an elaborate hoax.

Just as the others said, this is weird.

So I think this is a joke, but on the other hand it could be a normal lady (inside).

So I doesn't know what I must think.

Weird, yes. But i don't think is someone who is plain crazy. A little disturbed, yes, but mad, no. Despite it's f*cked-upness it's actually a very clever and well thought out site and idea. In terms of imagination i mean. I mean it certainly gets a reaction, and lasting memory from it's visitors. This is either the product of someone who is very creative, but (here comes the psycho babble) is venting something with this site, eg pain or some other repressed emotion that is a probably a product of the so called "accident." Or like Death Rabbit said, it's just a goofy performance artist. God damn it's weird though!

After visiting that site a few times over the last 2 days (what can I say...I was intrigued), and watching all of the "movies" at least once each, I've come to the conclusion that it is indeed a pair of performance artists. One to be the nutty Shaye Saint John, who is a guy, and the other to film it. If you listen to the voice on the splash page and in the movies, it's clearly a guy's voice, with the recording sped up slightly so it sounds like a woman's voice.

I think the creepyness comes from the notion that Shaye Saint John may or may not actually be a real person. Deranged, insane and dillusional, but real. Also the sounds, the quick-cut editing, the goofy imagery, and especially that damn doll Kiki...quite a combination. The fact that people are discussing it and wondering if it's real, all the while being freaked out by it, is probably exactly what the artists have intended. I say bravo to them.

If it's real, then it is definitely an outlet for this person's emotions, although the way she tries to freak people out by rolling down hollywood's streets in her wheelchair is rather questionable.

Like I said, I'm 99.9% sure it's just goofy performance art. I have no reason to believe it's real, or that Shae Saint John isn't a dude wearing a mask, a wig, and fake limbs. Just take it for what it is.

I don't mean to go off on a tangent, but is it possible to look like you have fake limbs? Hehe, that would come in useful if I ever become a bum.
