Fighting Kangaxx's first incarnation, I got him to a point where he was out of magic and 'near death' but he never would died. I poured over 300 points of damage into him from that point and he was still 'near death'. Was this a bug, or some weird combination of non-visible and non-dispellable magic? He wasn't able to damage my main fighters in melee, so it was a stalemate. I was hitting about every other swing with those character, doing 15-30 damage each time, far more damage than his ring could account for.

I had it do that to me two different times while trying different approaches of offing this jerk.

How did people deal with his 2nd incarnation? What is the counter for imprison? I ended up turning to slayer right as he changed and then beating the crap out of him with that. It cost me 2 points of popularity, but the slayer appears to be immune to imprison.

I dont know about the lich guy (lost that quest first time), but another imprison-dude is the bad guy Irenicus, when you fight him for the second time, at the tree of life. What I did was to send some fodder (fire elemental, wyvern, efreeti etc) at him, while keeping all my chars in a relatively safe distance. IIRC imprisonment and maze requre a "creature touched", so as long as you have a buffer of pets in front of him, you are relatively safe. Of course, the pets dont last long, so use the breach/pierce magic/ruby ray of reversal/spellstrike spells ASAP. When some of his defenses are down, ranged weapons will start getting through->casting failure.
You can also use insect swarm for that (casting failure), provided you have a druid.

Kangaxx the demi-lich doesn't need to touch you for imprison... this green blob floats across the screen and you're imprisoned.

I had him imprison 5 summoned creatures, and 5 npc's... how many imprison spells can a demi-lich have?

This happens to me with trolls. I get them to near death, but they don't collapse. They keep fighting and I deal about upwards of 300 damage before they fall over. Maybe its a glitch with ppl that don't really die until you do something special.
