Dream theater, a Euro band which I borrowed from a friend has an absolutly kickass singer , and they also have some of the best drumming I have ever heard in recent times. I also think that Scott Stapp could probably do metal if he wanted to, he has a very good voice.

    1. Sting
    2. Freddie Mercury
    3. whosiwhatsit from Coldplay (Martin?)
    4. Ondrasik from Five for Fighting has a nice voice as well, but I wouldn't put him quite on the level of the above three.
    5. Phil Collins - I enjoy his rasp

Too many 'best' singers for me. Most of them from the jazzy 60's, the funk 70's and the boogie 80's.

Ella Fitzgerald, Nina Simone, Sarah Vaughan, Aretha Franklin, B.B.King, Robert 'Kool' Bell Kool and the Gang), Marvin Gaye, blabla

Also Jeff Buckley, Phil Collins etc enz usw

    They are American, not European

Anyone like the singer on their first album? I think he has a really good voice, but he's not James...

Freddie Mercury is in my opinion the best singer ... well was :(

Currently though, I'd say that the singer from AFI is pretty solid

    David W - I haven't heard of 90% of them either.

    My pick: Hayley Westenra.

The female singer I think who has the best voice is Enya. When she's singing marble halls.... excellent.
